2024/25 Tennis Ireland National Camps: A Preview of the Future Champions

Tennis Ireland is thrilled to announce the first two camp dates for the National Camps 2024/25. We couldn’t be more excited to announce that both camps will be led by world-class international coaching legends, Matt Little and Simon Wheatley.

Matt Little
Matt Little is a globally acclaimed strength and conditioning coach with over 25 years of expertise. He spent 17 years as Sir Andy Murray’s strength and conditioning coach and was part of the Great Britain Davis Cup-winning support team for over 14 years. In addition to his work with elite athletes like Katie Boulter (GB No.1 female player) and Kyle Edmund (former world No. 14), Matt brings his vast experience to the Tennis Ireland National Performance Development Programme, consulting on player strength and conditioning. He is also an accomplished author and international speaker.

Simon Wheatley
As Director of SWNineteen, Simon Wheatley stands as one of the world’s most respected and influential Tennis Coaches & Coach Educators. With a degree in Sports Development & Psychology, Simon is an LTA Level 5 Master Performance Coach and Tutor, a bestselling author of two coaching books, and the creator of numerous coaching qualifications and development courses. Over 10,000 coaches across 40 countries have trained under his guidance. Simon’s expertise extends to Davis Cup analysis and consulting for top WTA, ATP, and ITF Junior players.

National Camp Dates:

Weekend 1: Led by Matt Little

  • Saturday, 19th & Sunday, 20th October
  • Green Ball: Sat 3-6pm
  • Players born 2011 or younger: Sun 12-3pm
  • Players born 2013 or younger: Sun 3-6pm

Weekend 2: Led by Simon Wheatley

  • Saturday, 7th & Sunday, 8th December
  • Green Ball: Sat 3-6pm
  • Players born 2011 or younger: Sun 12-3pm
  • Players born 2013 or younger: Sun 3-6pm

Only 8 boys and 8 girls will be selected for each camp. Green ball players will be chosen through Tennis Ireland Junior Kids events, while players born in 2011 and 2013 will be selected based on national rankings (week 40). Plus, 2 wildcards will be awarded by the performance team.
