2024 ATX Open Austin WTA Prize Money & Points Overview

2024 ATX Open Austin WTA Prize Money & Points Overview

After a successful first edition, the ATX Open in Austin, Texas, will continue its stay on the calendar in 2024, and the tournament will provide increased prize money.

The entry list for the second installment was recently released and marshaled by two former Grand Slam champions. Two-time Australian Open winner Victoria Azarenka and 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens are the veterans in the draw.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean they are guaranteed to reach the championship match. In fact, the top seed at the event is World No. 32 Anhelina Kalinina, who will look to become the second Ukrainian to win this tournament after Marta Kostyuk won the inaugural event last season.

American rising star Peyton Stearns has the firepower to cause damage, while 19-year-old Ashlyn Krueger, one of the breakout stars in 2023, is a Texas resident armed with a powerful baseline game.

Players like Diane Parry, Viktorija Golubic, and the returning Anastasija Sevastova will add finesse and flair to the draw due to their varied styles. The tournament will also be Caty McNally’s first taste of main draw action since rejoining the tour (lost in Linz qualifying).

For the prize money breakdown, the marginal increase from last year will be distributed across all rounds. Points allocation will also change slightly from the second round until the final as per recent modifications in the system by the WTA.

Players who lose in the first round only get one point but will pocket $2,890, which should just about be enough to cater for their short-lived trip. Second-rounders, however, will almost double that figure. These players will earn $4,040 and receive 30 points.

Quarterfinalists will receive a paycheck amounting to $6,608 and 54 ranking points. Semifinalists stand to make $ 11,610, a gain of almost $400 from last year, along with 98 points. Those who reach the championship match will each make upwards of $20,000.

The runner-up will earn $20,830 along with 163 points and the 2024 champion in Austin will bank $35,250 and receive the full 250 ranking points. Be sure to check the complete breakdown below of prize money and points allocation in all rounds.
