There will be 44 tournaments being held in 24 countries around the world, and a record prize fund of almost $150 million on offer across the 2024 DP World Tour schedule. There is a big change to the calendar for the 2024 season, though, as there will be a three-phase approach to the tour’s schedule. The first phase will see five geographically localised swings, which will then be followed by the ‘Back Nine’, including some of the most historic events on the DP World Tour. The 2024 DP World Tour season will then culminate in its final phase – the DP World Tour Play-offs. This will be back-to-back events in the United Arab Emirates – the Abu Dhabi Championship and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The five Rolex Series events – the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Genesis Scottish Open, BMW PGA Championship, Abu Dhabi Championship and the DP World Tour Championship – remain the same. The only tweak is that the Abu Dhabi Championship moves to the end of the season as part of the Play-offs schedule in November. The Dubai Invitational and the Bahrain Championship will make their debut appearances on the schedule, while the Volvo China Open returns for the first time since 2019. Keith Pelley, the DP World Tour’s Chief Executive, said: “Our 2024 season will see our members come together to compete across a global schedule, with greater opportunities and rewards than ever before. “The many new and original enhancements we have introduced will guarantee drama and excitement for our fans, our broadcasters and all our stakeholders across the entire season and means, more than ever, that every week counts on the DP World Tour.”
