The 2025 Chile Open is the final tournament of the prestigious Golden Swing, and the draw for this ATP 250 event has been unveiled.
Taking place from February 24th to March 2nd in Santiago, Chile, the 2025 Movistar Chile Open features a lineup of clay-court specialists eager to take part in the last event of the Golden Swing.
While many top players opt to compete in the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires and the Rio Open, notable absences this year include Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune. Nevertheless, the tournament promises thrilling matches and talented players to entertain the local fans.
Sebastian Baez returns as the defending champion, having won the tournament in 2024. The Argentinian player is seeded third and could face compatriot Francisco Comesana in the second round, who must first win against one of the qualifiers.
The top seed is also from Argentina, Francisco Cerundolo, who will enjoy a first-round bye. He will begin his quest for the title against either Facundo Diaz Acosta, another Argentine, or Yannick Hanfmann.
Local fans will be pleased with the bottom half of the draw. Second seed Alejandro Tabilo also has a first-round bye and may face fellow countryman Tomas Barrios Vera, who received a wild card and will compete against Federico Coria in the first round.
The seventh-seeded Nicolas Jarry is also in this part of the draw, set to face Camilo Ugo Carabelli in his opening match. In the second round, Jarry could meet Thiago Monteiro or a qualifier.
Another home favorite is Cristian Garin, who will compete against a qualifier in the first round. If he advances, he could encounter the fifth-seeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry or Hugo Gaston in the second round.
Thiago Seyboth Wild will also compete in Santiago. Last year, he was embroiled in controversy when journalists were prohibited from asking about his domestic abuse case. This year, he will face a qualifier in his opening match.
