49ers Unveil Jerseys For Super Bowl

The Super Bowl matchup is set between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

It’s a rematch of Patrick Mahomes’ first Super Bowl victory five seasons ago, although that one took place in Miami.

The color of each team’s jerseys has also been decided, with the 49ers wearing their white uniforms.

According to NFL rules, “Home clubs shall choose their jersey color (either white or official team color), and visiting clubs must wear the opposite.

Since the Chiefs are the home team – because home and away sides alternate every year and the NFC was the home team this past season – they chose to wear their primary red jerseys, meaning the 49ers had to wear their white uniforms.

Coincidentally, these are the same colored jerseys San Francisco wore in its 31-20 loss to Kansas City in Super Bowl LIV.

While the 49ers have a lot of the same players from that game, there are three key offensive players who could completely change the trajectory of this game.

Quarterback Brock Purdy is only in his second season but has already led San Francisco to back-to-back conference title games and was once an MVP favorite in 2023.

The team also has a fully-integrated Christian McCaffrey in the backfield after he led the NFL in total scrimmage yards and tied for most total touchdowns.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk emerged as a No. 1 wide receiver as well this past season and caught a touchdown in the 49ers’ NFC title game win over the Detroit Lions.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will be a tough matchup, though, especially after how well Kansas City’s defense has played recently.
