As the first round of the 2023 NFL playoffs takes place this weekend, the San Francisco 49ers will be sitting at home watching the games from their couches just like most of the league’s fans.

The 49ers get the luxury of sitting at home this weekend thanks to finishing the 2023 regular season with a 12-5 record and the top seed in the NFC.

So, as his team waits to see who they will be playing in their first matchup of the 2023 postseason, San Francisco All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel recently took some time to answer some questions during an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show with Kay Adams.

At one point, Samuel was asked to describe each team in the 2023 NFC playoff bracket with one word, and for the Green Bay Packers, he chose the word “sneaky” (via Up & Adams on Twitter).

As for some of the other teams in the NFC playoffs this season, the 49ers wide receiver described the Los Angeles Rams as “scary,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as “physical,” and the Detroit Lions as “explosive.”

Samuel conveniently didn’t pick a word to describe the Philadelphia Eagles, a team he’s that he’s had some beef with in the recent past.

For their first playoff matchup of the 2023 season, San Francisco and their top wide receiver could potentially face the Eagles, Bucs, Rams, or Packers.

The 49ers faced and defeated Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, and Los Angeles during the regular season, so the only team they haven’t gone up against in the last 12 months is Green Bay.

After Monday, San Francisco will officially know which team they will be hosting in the divisional round of the playoffs.
