Tennis Champions Gather to Support HJTEP

Tennis champions, celebrity fans, and philanthropists will come together next month to celebrate the work of the Harlem Junior Tennis & Education Program (HJTEP).

The HJTEP 52nd Annual Gala on May 13 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. Tickets for the gala are available at www.HJTEP.org or [email protected]

Emceed by WCBS-TV news anchor Maurice DuBois, the star-studded gala celebrates the success of the nearly 1,000 youngsters who benefit from HJTEP tennis and education programs annually.

Three of HJTEP’s most ardent supporters will be honored in 2024: Stan Smith, Michelle Blake-Wilson, and Johnson & Johnson MedTech.

Stan Smith

A highlight of the gala is the live auction which will offer priceless and unique packages including a 2025 Indian Wells, BNP Paribas Open VIP Package and more.

Michelle Blake-Wilson

The Shining Star Award recognizes Stan Smith for his athletic prowess and influence beyond the tennis court.

The James R. Kelly III Chairman’s Award honors Michelle Blake-Wilson for her support of HJTEP and promoting education.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech

The HJTEP Corporate Award is being presented this year to Johnson & Johnson MedTech for their support and future engagement with HJTEP.

The Harlem Junior Tennis & Education Program continues to bring tennis to youth from high-risk, low-income inner-city neighborhoods while emphasizing education and a positive code of behavior.

The organization opens a new door for many underserved boys and girls to learn tennis and achieve academic success.
