Jannik Sinner’s remarkable 2023 season has come to close in the best way possible. He and his teammates took the Davis Cup home to Italy for the first time in 47 years as the 22-year-old solidified his status as a Top-4 talent and a future major winner.

Let’s have a look back at some of the remarkable stats that characterized Sinner’s breakout season in 2023.

8-3 – Sinner won eight of eleven matches against Top-3 players this season. Remarkably, he started the season with an 0-8 lifetime record against the Top-3.

1976 – Sinner guided Italy to its first Davis Cup title in 47 years by winning all four of the rubbers he contested (3-0 in singles). He is 9-1 overall in Davis Cup singles matches.

4 – By climbing to No.4 in the ATP rankings, Sinner is the highest-ranked Italian man in history.

3 – Sinner earned three wins over reigning World No.1s this year – two over Novak Djokovic in the last three weeks, and another against Carlos Alcaraz in Miami this spring.

20-2 – Sinner won 20 of his 22 indoor matches this season, and has now won five career titles indoors.

13-6 – Sinner’s record against the Top-10 in 2023. He entered the year at 9-21 against the Top-10. Sinner won eight matches in a row against the Top–10, before losing to Novak Djokovic in the title match at the Nitto ATP Finals.

64-15 – Sinner won 64 matches this season, and became the first Italian man to ever win at least 60 matches in a single season.

87 – Sinner won 87 percent of his service games in 2023, which is much higher than his current career average of 83 percent. The serve is one of the biggest reasons he had so much success down the stretch in 2023, as he won 20 of his final 22 matches.

436 – Sinner finished 16th on tour with 436 aces in 2023 – he hit 370 aces in 2022.
