A.J. Brown of the Eagles set to make his return to the field after recovering from Week 1 hamstring injury

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a Week 5 bye with a 2-2 record. They lost their last game before the bye 33-16 on the road against the Buccaneers without their top two WRs, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Brown has been sidelined since Week 1 due to a hamstring injury.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has thrown two touchdown passes in the three games A.J. Brown has missed, highlighting the impact of Brown’s absence on Philadelphia’s passing game. After a month of rest and recovery, Brown is set to return in Week 6. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network confirmed that Brown will be back in action against the Cleveland Browns.

A.J. Brown set to make his second appearance for the Eagles in Week 6

A.J. Brown is currently in his third season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has had impressive seasons with over 1,400 receiving yards, 88 receptions, and at least seven touchdowns in back-to-back years. Originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2019, Brown was traded to the Eagles before the 2022 season. The 27-year-old has been a key playmaker for Philadelphia, and his absence has been felt in the team’s offensive production. Brown’s only appearance this season was in Week 1 against the Packers, where he had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.

DeVonta Smith stepped up as WR1 in Brown’s absence but missed Week 4 due to an injury sustained in Week 3. With Smith back and Brown returning in Week 6, the Eagles will have their top two WRs back in action against the Browns. This will mark Brown’s first game since his Week 1 hamstring injury, and Hurts is expected to target him to reignite the passing game. Philadelphia will be on the road facing Cleveland.
