A New Chapter Begins – Tennis Canada

A New Chapter Begins – Tennis Canada

From the courts to the corner office, my tennis journey continues with you.

Dear Tennis Canada Family,

Happy New Year! As I begin my journey as the new CEO of Tennis Canada, I can’t help but reflect on a journey that started many years ago. As a child, tennis was my playground and my classroom. I remember the thrill of being a ball kid at the Canadian Open, watching the sport I loved up close, and learning every nuance of the game that would become my life’s work.

My path from those early days to where I stand now has been shaped by the lessons tennis has offered. From organizing local and then national events to volunteering, every experience has deepened my understanding of this sport’s power – not just to entertain, but to build communities, to inspire, and to change lives.

I’d like to take a moment to celebrate the incredible success of our recent fundraising campaign! This triumph is not just about numbers; it’s a testament to our shared commitment to growing tennis in Canada, to bringing this beautiful game to every corner of our nation. If you made a donation to this campaign, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’d like to make one now, or at any time during the year, you can always visit our secure online donation page; you have my word that every penny will be put to good use.

This year, we set our sights higher than ever. We aim to build on our successes, to weave tennis even more deeply into the fabric of our communities. Whether you’re a donor helping to nurture future champions, a fan cheering from your living room, or a player sharing the joy of the game, you are an essential part of this journey.

I see this role not just as a job, but as a continuation of my lifelong mission – to give back to the sport that has given me so much. Together, we will work to make tennis more accessible, to shine a spotlight on our incredible athletes and to ensure every Canadian feels the joy and fulfillment that comes from engaging with tennis.

As we embark on this exciting chapter, I invite you to join me in making 2024 a landmark year for Canadian tennis.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. I look forward to connecting with you throughout the year, sharing our love for the game, and building a bright future for tennis in Canada.

Warm regards,

Gavin Ziv
CEO, Tennis Canada
