The 2024 World Series match-up is set and game one will begin on Friday at Dodger Stadium between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This World Series appears to be special as both suspected Most Valuable Player Award winners will be facing off head-to-head.

Aaron Judge of the Yankees will take on Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers in what should be an offensive showdown.

The argument for the best player in Major League Baseball may have been revealed as Judge made a powerful statement about his counterpart Ohtani.

“He’s an impressive athlete.  The best player in the game,” Judge said.

Judge led all of baseball in home runs and in the 2024 regular season, he batted .322 with 58 home runs, 144 runs batted in, and had a 1.159 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Ohtani was right behind him with 54 home runs, and on the season, he batted .310 with 54 home runs, 130 runs batted in, and a 1.036 on-base plus slugging percentage.

The best player in baseball argument appears to have been down to either Judge or Ohtani.

Judge may have settled this debate himself with this statement, and it shows just how humble Judge is as a person.

Both of these players will look to make an impact during the World Series in an attempt to help each of their respective teams come away with the title.

The Dodgers advanced with a National League Championship Series win over the New York Mets.

The Yankees advanced with an American League Championship Series win over the Cleveland Guardians.
