The New York Jets became the first team to part ways with their head coach this season.
Robert Saleh barely made it back home after their loss across the pond vs. the Minnesota Vikings, and DC Jeff Ulbrich will take the reins of the team for the time being.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long before people started blaming Aaron Rodgers for this.
There were some clips that made it seem as if Rodgers wasn’t on the same page with Saleh, and given his outspoken nature, plenty of analysts and fans claimed that he was responsible for this decision.
That’s why the quarterback wanted to make it loud and clear that it wasn’t the case at all (via Jori Epstein).

Rodgers claimed that Saleh was actually one of the reasons why he wanted to play for the Jets, stating that they actually had a great relationship and that he loved him.
Reports state that team owner Woody Johnson made the decision to fire Saleh, but he didn’t consult with Rodgers first.
Then again, it’s hard to believe that Johnson didn’t feel like Rodgers would be okay with the decision, as he clearly didn’t want to upset his franchise quarterback.
Also, the fact that they didn’t fire Nathaniel Hackett, who’s done a questionable job but is close friends with Rodgers, only raised more suspicion.
