AC Milan Set Their Sights on Arsenal's Underused Star in January Transfer Bidn

AC Milan Looks to Gabriel Jesus for January Transfer

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan has identified Gabriel Jesus as their primary target for the January transfer window, exploring the option of securing the Arsenal forward on loan.

The Rossoneri aim to strengthen their forward line after a shaky start to the season, considering Jesus to be an excellent addition to bring speed, creativity, and experience to their attack.

However, the proposal faces hurdles, particularly due to Milan’s constrained transfer budget and the Brazilian’s substantial salary.

Since the arrival of manager Massimiliano Allegri, Milan has struggled to maintain attacking consistency, notably in crucial matches.

Interest in Arsenal’s Versatile Forward

Jesus’s ability to play both as a central striker and on the wing aligns well with Milan’s tactical needs, making him a sought-after player. His 28 years of age and experience in both the Premier League and Champions League are seen as significant assets for a team striving for success both domestically and in European competition.

Nonetheless, Milan’s budgetary constraints make a permanent transfer unfeasible, leading them to consider a loan arrangement as the most plausible route. This option is complicated by Jesus’s contract, which reportedly earns him around €16 million annually at Arsenal, a figure that exceeds what Milan can afford.

Italian sources indicate that Milan may try to negotiate a deal where Arsenal would cover a portion of the player’s salary, though this would necessitate the Gunners’ consent and would likely be contingent on their own business in January.

Jesus Seeks More Playing Time

At Arsenal, Jesus currently faces difficulties in securing regular minutes. While he remains one of Mikel Arteta’s preferred forwards, the emergence of Viktor Gyökeres, signed last summer, and Mikel Merino’s adaptability as a makeshift attacker have led to limited playing opportunities.

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, Jesus is reportedly keen on finding consistent gameplay to solidify his position in the Brazil national team. Despite Arteta’s appreciation for Jesus’s leadership and adaptability, heavy rotation this season means that with players like Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard available, he may struggle to get ample game time in the latter part of the season.

Such a restricted role could make a midseason loan to Milan attractive, particularly if Milan can promise him regular play and a significant role in Allegri’s plans.
