There’s been much debate recently about the potential for the NFL to change the way the offseason is laid out and possibly add an 18th regular-season game to the schedule for all 32 teams.

The potential changes to the schedule and the offseason met with mixed reactions from players, fans, and the media, which sparked a heated debate on social media that the league might pay attention to moving forward.

There’s a chance that the NFL will eliminate OTAs entirely, with the NFLPA proposing the change while moving up training camp instead.

On a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen of the Carolina Panthers shared his thoughts on the potential change.

He seemed all for it, as he believes it might extend his career in the league and prevent some players from being out of shape, which he saw with his team last year via Panthers On Tap.

It’ll be interesting to see how all of this pans out for the next year or so and whether the league shifts to a different offseason schedule, which could have a profound impact on players in a positive way.

Only time will tell whether this gets done, but it will be interesting to see how the idea is received during the 2024 campaign.
