Adidas Flames Kevin Durant During Social Media Beef

Adidas woke up and chose violence after they savagely roasted Kevin Durant on their main X account and then deleted the post.

Adidas was defending their athlete Anthony Edwards, who was promoting his first signature sneaker, the new AE1.

In an interview with Nice Kicks, Edwards was asked which other NBA player he would most like to see wearing his shoes during a game.

He answered with KD and added,  “I want to see him put on the AE one time in game.”

Of course, being the social media fiend that he is, Durant saw this on X and responded with a roast.

“Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in those MFers,” Durant responded.

Adidas flamed KD in their since-deleted response.

“U dusty bouta retire soon anyway,” they said.

Adidas quietly deleted their first response and replaced it with, “meant to send that from the burner account…”

Adidas took their opportunity to throw further shade on KD in their second response, who is well known for having burner accounts on social media.

The 35-year-old has suffered a number of injuries in recent seasons, but is putting up impressive numbers to start the 2023-24 season.

The forward is averaging the second most points in the entire league (31.3) behind Joel Embiid, on 49.3 percent shooting from three and 96.7 percent from the field. To go with 6.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per night.

The Suns star has been a long-time Nike athlete since he joined the brand in 2008, which was the second-largest endorsement deal for a rookie at that time.

His collaboration has produced 14 iterations of KD basketball sneakers.

The first edition of the Nike KD shoe was the Nike Zoom KD1, so Durant was pretty much in Edwards’ shoes once. (if you will).

But it looks like the Adidas-Nike feud won’t be cooling down anytime soon.
