Adrien Rabiot, long-term target for Manchester United, reportedly offered to Liverpool and Arsenal

Thiago Motta's arrival could see Juventus offer contract renewals to Adrien Rabiot, Gleison Bremer - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United need reinforcements in midfield to partner Kobbie Mainoo moving forward while a few superstars look to be on their way out of the club this summer window.

Casemiro, arguably the signing of the 22/23 season, struggled badly in his sophomore campaign and despite recent clear-the-air talks with Erik ten Hag, INEOS are keen to sell him and free up the wage bill.

Christian Eriksen failed to adjust to the manager’s new high-transition system due to his lack of pace and his minutes decreased drastically following the emergence of the England international.

The Dane even expressed his disappointment to the manager and now, the Red Devils are open to his departure. Even Scott McTominay, who was the club’s most clutch player last term, could be on his way should a big enough bid arrive.

Midfield reinforcements needed

The new co-owners might need to bring in more than one midfielder this summer but with a limited budget to work with, even loan deals are being currently considered.

One free agent who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a long time now is Adrien Rabiot, with the Frenchman’s deal with Juventus ending in June.

He was close to arriving in Ten Hag’s first summer but for wage demands to ultimately scupper the deal. United could pounce on the free agent with his mother and agent Veronique offering her son to the Premier League despite an offer from the Bianconeri being on the table.

English clubs can easily pay more and apart from United, both Arsenal and Liverpool have also been approached according to HITC Football.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star has no interest of moving to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career and wants to stay in Europe. Apart from the English trio, Real Madrid are also looking at him while there is also interest from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

“Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been approached by the agent of free-agent former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot with a move to the Premier League being explored.

Rabiot race

“HITC understands that Rabiot does have an offer to stay in Turin. But it appears increasingly likely that both he and Juve will now part ways for good, though Rabiot is keen to continue his career in Europe despite interest from Saudi Arabia.

“Reigning European Champions Real Madrid have also spoken to Rabiot. It is understood that Los Blancos see Rabiot as someone capable of providing the experience and the technical qualities lost following Toni Kroos’ retirement.

“There is interest from a Fenerbahce side now under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho too.”

It will be interesting to see if United decide to take up the offer. If they lose both Casemiro and Eriksen, apart from quality, they will also lose a ton of experience, something Rabiot can bring to the table having won six league titles across his career.
