Adrien Rabiot, who has been linked to Manchester United, is still interested in a move to the Premier League – Latest updates on Man United’s transfer news

Manchester United could sign Adrien Rabiot as FC Barcelona deal hits brick wall - Man United News And Transfer News

Adrien Rabiot, who has been linked with Manchester United all summer, continues to dream of a Premier League move despite the close of the summer transfer window.

It has been more than two years since the then-United sporting director John Murtough took a flight to Turin to thrash out a deal for Rabiot.

However, he failed to find an agreement with the player and his mother Véronique, who also acts as his agent.

United’s midfield was as light heading into this summer transfer window as it was in 2022, leading to suggestions of the Red Devils once again making a move for the Frenchman, especially since he is available on a free transfer upon the expiration of his contract at Juventus.

It has been widely reported that the 29-year-old dreams of moving to the Premier League. The player himself has previously admitted his desire to play in England.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rabiot was even offered to United “several times over the summer, in July, in August.”

However, Dan Ashworth and company did not reciprocate interest, and instead spent their time and resources in luring Manuel Ugarte away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Late in August, United managed to find an agreement with PSG for the Uruguayan, having committed to paying a fixed fee of €50m plus a further €10m in add-ons.

United’s performance against Liverpool over the weekend highlighted their midfield is still below par and Ten Hag could certainly do with more quality in the middle of the park.

Rabiot remains available and United can sign him despite the close of the transfer window since he is a free agent.

Further, a Gazzetta dello Sport report suggests the France international is still hoping for a move to England.

Considering Casemiro’s form and Kobbie Mainoo’s age, bringing in a stop-gap solution in Rabiot could prove to be a shrewd move.

However, whether his high salary demand — reported to be €10 million a year — would suit the club’s wage structure remains unclear.
