Agent of Ben Simmons Claps Back at Stephen A. Smith Over Controversial Remarks

Simmons

Stephen A. Smith’s recent comments regarding Ben Simmons’ injury history elicited a strong response from his agent Bernie Lee.

Simmons, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career, only played in 15 games during the 2023-24 season due to ongoing back issues.

Since being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden in 2020-21, the 27-year-old has appeared in just 57 games, earning a substantial $86.3 million in that time.

Smith, on The OG’s Show, questioned Simmons’ commitment to the game and suggested that he lacks passion for basketball.

Simmons’ agent Lee responded to Smith’s comments by calling him an “idiot” and expressing his desire to confront him in person, although Smith’s TV show has been canceled.

Nets General Manager Sean Marks remains optimistic about Simmons’ potential, stating that he believes Simmons has the ability to bounce back and return to form this upcoming season.
