Alan Shearer reignites feud with Erik ten Hag in latest comments: Man United News and Transfer News

Erik ten Hag opens up on his Manchester United future after 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur - Man United News And Transfer News

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has seemingly renewed his war of words with Erik ten Hag, warning him that they’ll keep talking about Manchester United unless the team demonstrates some consistency.

Ten Hag, who has been under immense pressure following United’s extremely poor start to the season, got some much-needed respite over the weekend as his side came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1.

Brentford took the lead just before the break but United came roaring back in the second half and clinched all three points courtesy of goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

The victory has led to some silence regarding Ten Hag’s uncertain position at Old Trafford.

Shearer has been one of the Dutchman’s biggest critics, with the pair clashing in public more than once. On one occasion, Ten Hag called the former England international “stupid” for his unwarranted criticism of Marcus Rashford.

It seems that their spat is far from over if Shearer’s latest remarks are anything to go by.

In the latest episode of The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer praised United for their performance against the Bees but warned Ten Hag that the noise around him and his players will not completely go away unless there is sustained improvement.

Shearer said, “They did really, really well yesterday, but you’ve got to keep that up.”

“Otherwise, we’re gonna keep talking about him and his future and whether he’s gonna be the Man United manager – or whether he agrees or disagrees with our opinion.”

“They are one of, if not the biggest football club in the world, and when they are sat in 14th position in the Premier League.”

“Then whether he likes it or not, we’re all gonna talk about it.”

Ten Hag has the chance to make it two wins in two when United take on Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on Thursday in the Europa League.
