Alcaraz Fires Clear Warning To Rivals Ahead Of Clay Season

Carlos Alcaraz is ready to take on the 2024 Monte-Carlo Masters challenge, as he fired a warning to his rivals that ‘Carlos is back.’

The 20-year-old Spaniard had been largely missing from the ATP Tour for the past few months when it came to trophies, but he found himself in the United States for several weeks.

The Indian Wells Open couldn’t have come at a better time because it’s a tournament that suits Alcaraz really well. He won it for the second time this year, and it completely brought back his confidence and joy about tennis.

He played well in Miami but didn’t go all the way as he was stunned by a very strong Grigor Dimitrov. His stay in the United States was precisely the thing he needed to get back to his former self, and he’s now ready to take on the clay challenge.

It begins at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where he hasn’t played well in the past. Despite that, he’s ready for it and actually can’t wait because, as he told Tennis TV, Carlos is back.

“The last two tournaments has been really good for me. In Indian Wells lifting a trophy, but even more important for me that I felt myself, I felt really comfortable on the court moving well, I played my style and in Miami, it was the same feeling, even though I lost in the quarter-finals, I felt like I was playing good tennis. Carlos is back!”

It’s going to be interesting because the draw hasn’t been the best for him, giving him a player who has given him some trouble in the past. Even so, on clay, Alcaraz should be confident against Felix Auger-Aliassime, who hasn’t played the best on that surface in the past.

However, the Spanish player is seemingly struggling with an injury, putting his participation at the clay-court ATP Masters 1000 tournament into doubt.
