Alcaraz Successfully Overcomes Forearm Injury Challenge, Claims ‘Test of Fire’ Passed

Carlos Alcaraz was concerned about his arm before facing Thiago Seyboth Wild at the 2024 Madrid Open, but he passed the test.

Alcaraz knew his arm would be tested by the aggressive style of his opponent. The Brazilian player hits the ball hard, requiring Alcaraz to put in more effort than usual.

Despite his nerves, Alcaraz emerged victorious in two sets, proving his arm could handle the pressure.

Describing his experience, Alcaraz said, “Maybe today I was a bit nervous about how it would be, Thiago hits the ball so hard, I didn’t know how the forearm would hold up. Today was the test of fire, no discomfort, feeling spectacular… from here, we’ll be getting better.”

Alcaraz felt confident on the court, moving, hitting, and finishing well. He acknowledged the challenge of handling nerves in crucial moments.

“I was very comfortable on the court, moving, hitting the ball, as I always say finishing the game isn’t easy, it’s nerves.”

Up next is Jan-Lennard Struff, whom Alcaraz defeated in the previous year’s final. The upcoming match will be another test for Alcaraz’s physical and mental strength.
