Alisson criticizes Nottingham Forest’s tactics after stunning victory at Anfield

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has taken a swipe at Nottingham Forest’s tactics during their shock win at Anfield.

The Reds slipped to their first defeat under Arne Slot thanks to Callum Hudson-Odoi’s second half goal, which continued Forest’s unbeaten start to the campaign and was the first Slot’s side have conceded this season.

For Liverpool and Slot it was an unexpected defeat and they were unable to break down a Forest defence who defended well and nullified their attacking threat.

Alisson takes swipe at Forest tactics

The Reds appeared to be off it in what was their first game after the international break and failed to create many chances, whilst passes regularly didn’t find their intended target.

Losing points at home is always frustrating, especially in a game you’re expected to win afterwards Alisson showed his frustration as he took a swipe at Forest’s tactics.

“It was a shame, losing points at home is not good at all but the opponent today only wanted to defend and play for the long ball,” he said.

Alisson wasn’t happen with Nottingham Forest’s tactics in their shock win at Anfield.

“We gave them that too easily when they scored, it was poor defensively from us.

“We couldn’t create much, we had a lack of quality today, we needed more energy.

“It is three points we have lost today unnecessarily.

“All the opportunities we had were not clear enough and they defended great, they threw themselves in front of the ball.”

It’s an afternoon Alisson and co will quickly want to forget and the big task now facing Slot is how he will respond after facing a setback, with everything going perfectly until Saturday’s defeat.

The Reds have a big week ahead as they kick off their Champions League campaign with a trip to Milan on Tuesday night before hosting Bournemouth at Anfield next weekend.
