Allen Declares Miami's Season a Disappointment Without Silverwaren

Inter Miami Aiming for MLS Cup Glory

Inter Miami CF defender Noah Allen has voiced the team’s ambitious goals as they prepare for the MLS Cup playoffs. He stated that failing to secure the trophy would mark the season as a disappointment for the squad.

“Yes, it would be a failure if we don’t win the MLS Cup. We hold ourselves to high standards,” Allen remarked. “Our aim is to win every possible trophy. We are determined to succeed.”

Miami finished the regular season in third place in the Eastern Conference, accumulating 65 points. They will face Nashville SC in a best-of-three playoff series, with the first match scheduled for Friday night at Chase Stadium, where Miami has home-field advantage for a potential third match thanks to their table position.

“I’m thrilled about the playoffs and have faith in my team; we have the greatest of all time,” said teammate Rodrigo De Paul. “However, football doesn’t always favor the best or most deserving side. We need to minimize the element of luck and ensure we work hard to achieve our best outcomes.”

Inter Miami recently faced Nashville, claiming a strong 5-2 victory in their last regular-season game on October 18. This familiarity will serve them as they anticipate at least two more matches against the same team.

Star player Lionel Messi, who netted a hat trick against Nashville to clinch the 2025 MLS Golden Boot, missed a training session on Tuesday due to minor back discomfort. Despite this, reports suggest that Messi is expected to resume training on Wednesday and will play a key role in the first playoff match.

After being eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs last year, Miami is motivated to advance further this season.

“I feel there’s a strong connection among us, and we play good football with excellent possession. We need to maintain the confidence that we are the best team in the league,” Allen noted. “There’s no urgency or panic, but rather motivation, especially among those who experienced last year’s outcome. It’s about understanding the challenge ahead: we must win two games.”
