Starting the 2024 season, the Detroit Lions hold a 2-1 record. They kicked off the year with a 26-20 victory at home in Week 1 against the Rams. Detroit then suffered a 20-16 loss at home against the Buccaneers in Week 2. Jared Goff and the Lions bounced back in Week 3 with a 20-13 win on the road against the Cardinals.
The Lions will be back at home in Week 4 to face Geno Smith and the Seahawks. Leading up to the Monday Night Football game, the Lions made a move by signing veteran WR Allen Robinson to the active roster. Robinson, who was previously on Detroit’s practice squad, made an appearance in Week 3 and is now in his 11th professional season.

Selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft, Allen Robinson began his career with the Jaguars and later signed a three-year, $42 million deal with the Chicago Bears. After completing his contract with the Bears, Robinson signed a one-year deal for the 2021 season before joining the Los Angeles Rams on a three-year, $46.5 million deal. Following a season with the Rams, Robinson was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. During that season, he played and started all 17 games, recording 34 catches for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
During the offseason, the 31-year-old receiver was with the New York Giants but failed to make the final roster. Robinson then signed with the Lions practice squad and made an appearance in the Week 3 victory over the Cardinals. In preparation for Week 4, WR Tim Patrick was also signed off the practice squad to join the Lions’ receiving core consisting of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, and Isaiah Williams. The extent of playing time Robinson will see in the Week 4 game against the Seahawks remains to be seen.
