A new era has begun for the Buffalo Bills, and it will be one where they will have to be focused on identifying and developing talent at the wide receiver position.
They traded away Stefon Diggs, who has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, to the Houston Texans this offseason following lots of speculation that he had been unhappy with the organization.
In the second round of this year’s NFL draft, the Bills took Keon Coleman, a wideout who posted 50 catches for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games for Florida State University last year.

Not only did Buffalo lose Diggs this offseason, but they also lost Gabriel Davis, their WR2 who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent.
In addition to Coleman, one wideout Buffalo is hoping will develop into a bona fide threat is Khalil Shakir, a fifth-round pick in 2022 who showed some growth in 2023 with 611 yards and two touchdowns.
They also brought in Curtis Samuel, a wide receiver who spent the last three seasons with the Washington Commanders and has had over 60 receptions in both of the last two years.
Despite this turnover at that position, plenty still have the Bills penciled in as a playoff team for 2024, mainly because of quarterback Josh Allen.
Although Allen had an uneven 2023 campaign, he threw for 29 touchdowns and added 15 more touchdowns on the ground, and he will likely have to continue to take on a big burden in terms of creating offense himself this fall and winter.
