Americans Abroad Midweek Rewind: Holmes, Tillman, and more


Tuesday night marked a memorable return to Huddersfield Town for Duane Holmes.

Holmes started and registered two assists as Preston North End defeated his former club 3-1 at the John Smith Stadium. The 29-year-old played 74 minutes in the match, delivering a Man of the Match performance for Ryan Lowe’s squad. Holmes also won two duels, drew one foul, and up the first and last goal of the match. Holmes now has three goals and four assists in 20 league appearances following his summer move from Huddersfield to Preston North End.

Preston sits eighth in the EFL Championship table and next hosts Watford on Saturday at Deepdale.

In Europe, Christian Pulisic scored as AC Milan dropped into the Europa League. Gio Reyna and Borussia Dortmund tied PSG, winning the Group of Death. Cameron Carter-Vickers did not feature for Celtic.

Elsewhere in England, Haji Wright scored his sixth league goal for Coventry City.
