It has been close to seven months since American forward Emmanuel Sabbi celebrated a goal at club level, but he sure made up for lost time on Saturday.
Sabbi scored his first Ligue 1 goals for Le Havre in a 3-1 league victory over Nice, earning SBI Player of the Week honors for his Man of the Match performance. The 25-year-old made the switch from Odense to Le Havre this summer and was finally able to celebrate his first goal involvements for the club this weekend.
Sabbi’s pair of first half goals truly set the stage for a comfortable result for Le Havre, who eventually added an insurance goal after halftime. The U.S. men’s national team attacker was substituted off after 66 minutes to a huge ovation from the home supporters after leading the way past Nice.
Sabbi has now made 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season and will be eager to build off of Saturday’s performance heading into the new year.

Christian Pulisic
Christian Pulisic’s goal involvement streak continued in Sunday’s Serie A victory over Monza.
AC Milan made it back-to-back wins after defeating Monza 3-0 on Sunday in league play. Pulisic registered one assist in the match, giving him two goals and two assists in his last four appearances across all competitions.
Pulisic’s impressive run of form is coming at a crucial period for the Rossoneri.
Sergino Dest
PSV’s domestic dominance in the Eredivisie continued Sunday with Sergino Dest shining bright against AZ Alkmaar.
Dest scored his first goal for the league-leaders in a 4-0 triumph away from home. The Barcelona loanee delivered a confident finish in the first half, adding to PSV’s early advantage in the match.
Dest has been key for Peter Bosz’s squad this season and Sunday’s performance was another prime example of it.
Lynden Gooch
Lynden Gooch’s long wait to celebrate his first Stoke City goal came to an end Sunday.
Gooch’s clever finish in the first half helped the Potters earn one point in a 1-1 road draw with West Bromwich Albion. It marked his first goal of the year and one that moved the Potters further away from the relegation zone in the EFL Championship.
After joining Stoke City from Sunderland in August, Gooch has been a regular starter for Paul Gallagher’s squad.
Johan Gomez
Eintracht Braunschweig hasn’t had much to cheer so far during the 2. Bundesliga season but Sunday’s comeback victory over Kaiserslautern could be the start of a surge out of the bottom three.
Johan Gomez scored the winning goal in a 2-1 home triumph, moving Braunschweig only four points from safety heading into the winter schedule. Gomez’s winning goal came in the 62nd minute as the hosts battled back from an early deficit to claim three points.
The U.S. Under-23 men’s national team attacker now has two goals this season.
