There’s no American attacker in finer form than Norwich City’s Josh Sargent.
Sargent extended his current goalscoring streak to four matches on Saturday after finding the back of the net twice in a 4-1 home EFL Championship win against Cardiff City. It marked Sargent’s first brace of the campaign, giving him 10 total goals so far this season.
After tying the match 1-1 in the 39th minute, Sargent extended Norwich City’s lead to 3-1 only 15 minutes later in the match. Gabriel Sara’s go-ahead goal boosted the Canaries in front before Sargent continued his fine form with a confident finish.
David Wagner’s men are now seventh in the EFL Championship standings and in a heated race to crack the top-six by season’s end. Sargent’s continued scoring has certainly been beneficial in Norwich City extending its unbeaten run to four matches.
A trip to Blackburn Rovers on Feb. 24 will close out the Canaries’ schedule this month.
“I’m very confident at the moment,” Sargent said postmatch. “I felt like it was actually one of my sloppier games, but overall I’m very happy with the two goals. Hopefully I can score more.”

Christian Pulisic
AC Milan endured a tough afternoon against Monza on Sunday but Christian Pulisic walked away with some needed confidence.
Pulisic came off the bench to score once and assist once in a 4-2 Serie A road loss. The U.S. men’s national team attacker did not start the match after featuring in Thursday’s Europa League win over Rennes, but did have an impactful second-half cameo.
Pulisic now has seven goals and six assists in Serie A play this season.
Griffin Yow
Westerlo earned three points at home on Friday with Griffin Yow continuing his breakout campaign.
Yow netted his sixth league goal of the season as Westerlo defeated Standard Liege 2-1. Yow’s long-range shot proved to be the difference as Westerlo earned its second win of the new year.
The 21-year-old will certainly be on the USMNT’s radar ahead of the Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
Brenden Aaronson
Brenden Aaronson played the hero for Union Berlin on Saturday, ending a frustrating spell for the USMNT midfielder.
Aaronson came off the bench and delivered the winning goal for Union Berlin in a 1-0 road league triumph over Hoffenheim. The 23-year-old capped off an impressive fast break by the visitors, stealing three points for Union Berlin with six minutes to play.
It marked Aaronson’s first goal contribution this season since arriving from Leeds United.
Malik Tillman
PSV continued its Eredivisie dominance on Friday with Malik Tillman impressing in midfield.
Tillman assisted once in PSV’s 2-0 home victory over Heracles, giving the American midfielder a confidence boost ahead of Champions League play this week. The 21-year-old now has five goals and four assists in league play, continuing an impressive loan spell from Bayern Munich.
