Metros de Santiago (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old American forward Tariq Owens (208cm-93kg-1995, college: Texas Tech). Owens played last season at Gevi Napoli Basket in Italian Serie A. In 30 games he recorded 11.1ppg, 7.0rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.2bpg. He helped them to win the cup. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week (2 times).
Owens is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in USA, NBA (Phoenix Suns), NBA G League (NAZ Suns and Long Island Nets), NBA Summer League (Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies) and The Basketball Tournament (Air Raiders).
Owens was selected to Big 12 All-Defensive Team back in 2019.
He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2019 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player. Owens played for other colleges like: St. John’s University, University of Tennessee.
