LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (Betclic ELITE ProA) signed 25-year old center Neal Sako (210cm-1998) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Sako has played for the last two years at Cholet Basket in the Betclic ELITE ProA. In 37 games, he averaged 11.9ppg, 7.6rpg (#3 in the league), and 1.6apg last season. He received multiple accolades in the 2023-24 season, including being named to Eurobasket.com All-French Betclic Elite ProA Honorable Mention, All-Domestic Players Team, and League Player of the Week (2 times). He also had a successful stint playing 17 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he averaged 10.9ppg, 8.1rpg, and 1.2apg and was named League Player of the Week (2 times). Sako has previously played for Metropolitans, Chalons Reims, and Levallois.
The list of Sako’s past achievements is extensive, including making it to the FIBA Europe Cup final in 2023 and being voted to the Eurobasket.com French ProA All-Domestic Players Team in 2022.
