National League 2 newcomer K.O. Holargos landed experienced 36-year old 204cm power forward Dimitris Maloukos for the upcoming season. Maloukos played most recently at Megaridas in the Greek Elite League. In 17 Elite League games last season, he averaged 1.8ppg and 2.0rpg, which was deemed too high a level for him. National League 2 presents a better fit for him where he is likely to see more playing time. Previously, Maloukos also played for Milonas and Megaridas in the Elite League.
Maloukos has spent his entire career in Greece playing for three other teams: Voureios Chiou, Promitheas, and Pentelis. He won the Greek B championship title in 2023 and was named Eurobasket.com All-Greek C Division Co-Guard of the Year in 2018. This season at Holargos may be one of the last in his extensive career before retirement.
