Turk Telekom Ankara (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old Canadian ex-international 193cm guard Olivier Hanlan (college: Boston) for season 2024-25. Hanlan played most recently at PBC CSKA Moscow in Russian VTB United League. He managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 21 VTB United League games he recorded 9.0ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.1apg. Hanlan helped them to win the VTB United League championship. He also played for Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 20 Italian Serie A games he averaged impressive 18.7ppg, 4.0rpg and 4.3apg. Hanlan was also voted League Player of the Week. He also played 11 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got remarkable 16.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 6.5apg. Good season as he was also here selected League Player of the Week. Hanlan also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 11.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.5apg.

In 2015 he was drafted by Utah Jazz (NBA) in second round (42nd overall). The former Boston star is in his tenth season in pro basketball.

He was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. Hanlan played for Canadian Senior National Team between 2015 and 2017 and previously for University National Team back in 2013.

He also represented Canada at the Marchand Cup in San Juan (Puerto Rico) nine years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 2 games: 3.5ppg, 1.0rpg, 1.0spg.

Hanlan is a very experienced player. Thanks to Hanlan’s pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in ten different countries. He has played previously professionally in China (Pioneers), France (Le Mans), Germany (Telekom Baskets), Greece (Aris and Iraklis), Lithuania (Zalgiris), Spain, NBA (San Antonio Spurs), Turkey (Gaziantep), NBA G League (Austin Spurs) and Canada (Blackjacks).

Among many awards he was voted Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Guard of the Year back in 2021.
