Wimbledon Offers Historic Opportunity

Reigning Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz is looking to defend a Grand Slam title for the first time at SW19. Jannik Sinner, fresh off his first grass-court title in Halle, competes in his first major as world No. 1. Tommy Paul, the Queen’s Club champion, has climbed to the top spot in American tennis.

On the women’s side, world No. 1 Iga Swiatek is vying for her first Wimbledon final. Defending champion Marketa Vondrousova sustained an injury in a warm-up event in Berlin. Other contenders include 2022 Wimbledon victor Elena Rybakina, two-time Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka, two-time Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur, Berlin champion Jessica Pegula, and US Open champion Coco Gauff, all in the running for the prestigious Venus Rosewater Dish.
