Mersin BBGSK (BSL) inked 29-year old Puerto Rican international 201cm small forward Isaiah Pineiro (college: San Diego) for upcoming season. Pineiro played this summer at Piratas de Quebradillas in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 9 games just recently he averaged 11.2ppg, 4.4rpg and 2.0apg. The last season he played at Zunder Palencia in Spanish Liga Endesa where in 18 games he had 9.7ppg and 4.7rpg.
He also represented Puerto Rico at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in San Juan (Puerto Rico) this year. Pineiro’s team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: 4.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.8apg, 1.0spg.
Pineiro is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). Pineiro has played previously professionally in Latvia (VEF Riga), Turkey (Darussafaka Lassa) and NBA G League (Stockton Kings).
His team won Puerto Rican BSN Group A Regular Season in 2023.
He graduated from University of San Diego in 2019 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. Pineiro played for other colleges like: Portland State University, Sierra College.
