Darussafaka Lassa Istanbul (BSL) landed 26-year old British international 206cm forward-center Daniel Akin (college: Utah State) for new season. Akin is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Silas Melson signed here earlier.
He played most recently at SIG Strasbourg in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 34 games he averaged 5.5ppg and 3.1rpg last season. He helped them to make it to the cup final. He also played 15 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 5.5ppg and 3.5rpg.
Akin has been also a member of British international program for some years. He played for British senior team this year and previously for U18 National Team back in 2016.
Akin represented United Kingdom at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Chemnitz (Germany) six years ago.
He graduated from Utah State in 2023 and it is his second season in pro basketball. Akin played for other colleges like: California Baptist University, University of Maryland – Baltimore County.
