Lions de Geneve (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old Guamanian center Jonathan Galloway (209cm-107kg-1996, college: UC Irvine) with a two months deal. Galloway played most recently at APOEL Nicosia in Cypriot OPAP Basket League. In 12 games he recorded 5.4ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.2bpg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Galloway was voted to All-Big West Defensive Player of the Year back in 2017 and 2018.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at SAM Basket Massagno in Swiss SBL where in 40 games he averaged 10.2ppg and 7.3rpg in that year. He contributed to his team winning the Cup and make to league final. A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Swiss SBL Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week (2 times).
Galloway also represented Guam at the Pacific Games in Honiara (Solomon Islands) last year. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 6.4ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.0apg, Blocks-1(2.2bpg), FGP: 57.9%, FT: 41.7%.
He is quite experienced player. Galloway has played also professionally in Croatia (Zadar), Denmark (Bakken), Finland (Bisons), Turkey (TED Ankara), Switzerland (Monthey-Chablais) and Czech Republic (Decin).
He graduated from University of California – Irvine in 2019 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player. Galloway was voted to All-Big West Defensive Player of the Year back in 2017 and 2018.
