The New York Giants are in a bit of a tough spot right now.

They have a valuable first-round pick, but it’s not as high as to solve what they want to solve.

With multiple teams taking quarterbacks in the top three, and the Minnesota Vikings likely to climb to the top five, they might get the guy they covet at No. 6.

Nonetheless, that could end up being a blessing in disguise for them.

At least, that’s how former NFL player Willie Colon tends to feel.

Talking on The Carton Show, he doesn’t think the Giants should go after a quarterback at all this year.

Instead, he believes they should target a playmaking pass-catcher for their offense, whether it’s Malik Nabers or Brock Bowers.

Granted, Daniel Jones hasn’t exactly been great since he entered the league, and he’s coming off a worrisome regression.

Then again, he also showed signs of promise in his first campaign under HC Brian Daboll.

The Giants could also part ways with Jones after this season, and they also have a serviceable backup in Drew Lock at this moment.

If things don’t work out, they can always start over at the position in free agency, via trade, or in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft.

But the fact of the matter is that it doesn’t matter who’s behind center if he doesn’t have anybody to throw the football to, and guys like Nabers or Bowers should be able to make an impact regardless of who’s there.
