The Philadelphia Eagles desperately need to be better next season.

They imploded late last year, and it was hard to believe they were the same team that had just made it to the Super Bowl the year prior.

That’s why, regardless of what team owner Jeffrey Lurie says about Nick Sirianni’s job security, most people believe the head coach will be on the hot seat next season.

Notably, that includes NFL analyst Craig Carton.

In the latest edition of The Carton Show, Carton claimed that Lurie is a reasonable guy, but he won’t hesitate to pull the plug if he needs to do so.

He pointed out the fact that the Eagles lost six of their last seven games — including the playoffs — after starting the season 10-1, and some of those losses came against bad teams.

The Eagles blew a big chance to have home-field advantage through the playoffs, had a broken locker room, and made some questionable decisions about Sirianni’s coaching staff during the year.

On top of that, they lost two veteran leaders in Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelce, both of whom decided to retire after the season.

Even so, as much as Sirianni should be on the hot seat, Carton also believes it’ll all come down to Jalen Hurts.

He adds that he doesn’t know who he is anymore because of the down year he had in 2023 after a breakout season in 2022, adding that the Eagles might not be so sure either.

The Eagles have plenty of talent and two prime top assistants arriving in town, as well as Saquon Barkley.

So, the pressure is definitely on.
