Last season, the Philadelphia Eagles looked like one of the best teams in the league during the first half of the 2023 campaign, as they started the year with a record of 10-1, but then the team fell apart in the final stretch, leading to an embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the NFL playoffs.

Heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Eagles were hoping to right the ship after such a disappointing end to last season, and the team seemed to be a better squad with the addition of superstar running back Saquon Barkley, who helped the team get the season-opening win against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.

Coming into Week 4, Philadelphia was sporting a 2-1 record and had a chance to get some revenge against Baker Mayfield and company for the playoff meltdown last season.

Unfortunately, it was more of the same from the Eagles against the Buccaneers, with Philadelphia having no answer for Tampa Bay on the road.

The Eagles looked like a mess defensively, which is concerning, considering how good the team looked, namely Jalen Carter, in last week’s win over the New Orleans Saints.

FOX Sports’ Emmanuel Acho took to his X account to call out the Eagles’ defense for showing a lack of maturity on Sunday in Tampa Bay.

With the Eagles sitting at 2-2 and having some lopsided performances from week to week, there’s no way to tell how the rest of the season will go for Philadelphia.

However, the Eagles have shown that Philadelphia can be a good team when firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football, but it remains to be seen if they’ll get that balance moving forward.
