After winning back-to-back Super Bowl titles, the Kansas City Chiefs are the elite franchise in the NFL right now, with every team in the league trying to figure out a way to take down Patrick Mahomes and company to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy at season’s end.
Heading into the 2024 NFL campaign, Andy Reid’s squad has the opportunity to become the first team to win three Super Bowl titles in a row. With the Chiefs hoping to make NFL history, there’s been some debate about which opposing team will have the best chance to take down the defending champions.
Ric Bucher of FOX Sports said he believes there is no debate, as the Cincinnati Bengals have a track record of dominating the Chiefs over the past few years, via Speak On FS1.
“The reality, there’s not really anything to debate,” Bucher said. “I mean, the Bengals have beaten them three out of four times. They’ve beaten them when they’ve had a mediocre defense. They’ve beaten them when they’ve only rushed for 60 yards. They’ve beaten them without Joe Mixon. … They’ve beaten them under every circumstance.”

Although Bucher does have a point with everything he stated, when making a case for the Bengals, the health of superstar quarterback Joe Burrow is the biggest question mark for Cincinnati.
Burrow suffered a calf strain in training camp last year and then went down with a season-ending wrist injury, which could be a lingering problem and might be a reason the Bengals can’t contend with the Chiefs moving forward.
