The Los Angeles Dodgers have advanced to the World Series after defeating the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series.

With both championship series now over, the World Series matchup has been set with the Dodgers taking on the New York Yankees.

Tommy Edman of the Dodgers had a big performance in the clinching Game 6, and in the series overall, to earn MVP honors.

That unexpected award had MLB analyst AJ Ramos making a bold statement about the shortstop.

Edman came into the league in 2019 with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he played the first five seasons of his career.

He did not play for St. Louis this season and came to Los Angeles at the trade deadline, playing 37 games after recovering from wrist surgery.

Edman’s regular-season numbers didn’t jump off the page as he batted .237 with six home runs, 20 RBIs and a .711 OPS.

He found his bat in the NLCS, however, hitting .407 with 11 hits, one home run and 11 RBIs in the series.

Ramos described how well-rounded Edman is at the plate and how he can do the little things, like put the ball in play or lay down a bunt.

Edman will look to continue his hot streak at the plate in the World Series.
