For months, the Chicago Bears had to wait before they could officially select Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bears owned the No. 1 pick after their blockbuster deal with the Carolina Panthers last year, and they made no surprises once their name was on the clock for Day 1 of the draft.

Aside from Williams, Chicago bolstered the offense even further when they later took wide receiver Rome Odunze at No. 9 overall.

Williams walks into arguably the best situation a rookie quarterback has ever had as he’s got a full assortment of talent at his disposal once the 2024 NFL season begins.

Chicago has been mired in mediocrity for years, but by taking Williams, Brian Baldinger believes this is the start of a new era for the historic franchise, via NFL Total Access.

“It’s a new beginning,” Baldinger said.

Baldinger speaks highly of Williams and calls him a much different player than some of the other quarterbacks the organization has churned through the past few years.

Williams has a long history of winning at every level of football and will now bring his talent and skills to a Bears team that desperately needed a facelift.

In the rest of the video, Baldinger explains what makes Williams so special offensively and it’s easy to see why most are calling Chicago the biggest winners in the draft.

The 2024 NFL season should be a fun and exciting one for Bears fans who have been waiting a long time to earnestly cheer for someone like Williams to lead them back to the postseason.
