Analyst Reveals What Bills Should Do With 28th Pick

After being considered Super Bowl contenders for most of the last few years, the Buffalo Bills have scaled back after trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

They may not be rebuilding in earnest, but it is hard to imagine them making the playoffs right now, especially with the immense amount of talent and depth across the AFC.

Buffalo will have the No. 28 pick in next week’s draft, and while they have several needs that could be addressed with that pick, Brian Baldinger of NFL Network said they should use it on a wide receiver.

In particular, Baldinger said Adonai Mitchell from the University of Texas would be a good fit, in part because of how well he runs routes.

Mitchell had 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns last season after two relatively quiet seasons prior to that at the University of Georgia.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds, which means he should have the speed to stretch the field vertically at the next level.

In general, this year’s draft class is thought to be deep at the wide receiver position, which makes Baldinger’s advice for the Bills sound very prudent.

Not only do the Bills not have Diggs, who has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, anymore, but they also lost Gabriel Davis, who was their No. 2 wideout, in free agency to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Quarterback Josh Allen is 27 years of age, so they do have some time to retool, but they don’t have forever.
