The Dallas Cowboys appear to be content with letting the offseason go by without making a substantial move to the roster.

After flaming out of the Wild Card Round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs, the Cowboys have yet to make the splash in free agency that most expected them to.

Instead, Dallas has seen players like Tyron Smith and Leighton Vander Esch leave the roster without suitable replacements.

Owner Jerry Jones previously said he was all-in on doing whatever it takes to win a Super Bowl but so far he has yet to live up to that promise.

Jones has been hell-bent on getting back to the Super Bowl after decades of futility, but it seems that he’s allowing the offseason to pass him and his team by.

Some fans have grown frustrated with Jones’ management of the team, though analysts like Ed Werder of ESPN believe that he’s still focused on winning games.

“Jerry Jones is too old to be throwing away seasons – especially when the Cowboys have won 12 regular season games three straight years,” Werder tweeted.

As Werder points out, Jones isn’t getting any younger and can’t afford to wait to see the Cowboys get back to the mountaintop.

Although the lack of signings and trades has been disappointing, there’s still time for Dallas to acquire talent to give head coach Mike McCarthy a chance to get over the hump.

The 2024 NFL Draft and second wave of free agency will be critical for Jones and the rest of the organization as they sorely need a boost on both sides of the field.
