Analyst Calls For Patriots To Trade Pro Bowl Pass Rusher

In the aftermath of Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots a few years ago, nothing has gone right for the storied NFL franchise. Legendary head coach Bill Belichick was unable to right the ship with Mac Jones, and now the team is in full rebuild mode.

After 24 seasons in New England, Belichick was fired by owner Robert Kraft in a move that many saw coming as the team seemed to have lost its allure and was no longer considered a force to be reckoned with.

With the Patriots no longer striking fear in the hearts of opponents, it was no surprise that Kraft decided to make the move to part ways with Belichick and start the rebuilding process, which included trading Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now that the rebuild has begun with Jerod Mayo at the helm and rookie Drake Maye under center, the Patriots brass has a decision to make on arguably the team’s best player, Pro Bowl pass rusher Matthew Judon.

Former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria said New England should part with Judon as well, via “The Gresh & Fauria Show.”

“I would sign him, and then I would trade him,” Fauria said.

Although getting rid of arguably your best player and leader on the field is a controversial move, the Patriots are rebuilding, and moves like these are usually made in that situation to start fresh and not overpay players when the goal isn’t winning, at least for the time being.

However, this would be a move that devastates the defense, which might be the only thing the Patriots have going for them right now, so it is another tough call for Kraft and the organization.
