With three wins heading into Week 16 of the 2023 NFL regular season, the once-dominant New England Patriots are limping to the finish line this year, with a lot of uncertainty about who will be coaching this team next season and for the foreseeable future.

Legendary head coach Bill Belichick is on the hot seat in New England, with some reporting that the decision has already been made to part ways with him once the 2023 campaign officially comes to an end for the Patriots.

With arguably the greatest head coach in NFL history potentially set to lose his job at season’s end, there’s been a lot of opinions swirling around about if the storied franchise would be making a mistake and if he is let go where he might coach next in the league.

Former Patriots star Christian Fauria, who won two Super Bowl titles playing for Belichick in New England, believes the team would be making a big mistake in firing the veteran head coach, via NFL on CBS.

Fauria believes that the problem in New England right now is not a coaching issue but rather a personnel issue, as he thinks that Belichick is still the best head coach in the NFL right now, which is a bold statement.

With the Patriots simply unable to replace Tom Brady since he left a few years ago, a case could be made for Belichick not having the players to keep winning, but it could also be said that he hasn’t been able to develop the players he has in New England.

Regardless of the reasoning behind the rough years for the Patriots, the writing seems to be on the wall that Belichick will be looking for a job in the offseason.
