Al Bataeh Sharjah (ULB) added to their roster 28-year old American ex-international power forward Tyler Wideman (203cm-1995, college: Butler) for season 2024-25. Wideman played last season at Elachem Vigevano 1955 in Italian Serie A2. In 36 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.5ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg. He was also named League Player of the Week (2 times).
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Ramat Hasharon in Israeli National League where in 30 games he was league’s fifth best scorer with remarkable 20.1ppg and had 10.3rpg (#3 in the league), 2.6apg and 1.3bpg in that year. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Israeli National League All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week.
Wideman also represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) five years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 5 games: 2.4ppg, 1.6rpg.
He has played also professionally in Croatia (Cedevita), Hungary (Sopron KC) and Israel (Maccabi Raanana).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Croatian Premijer Liga in 2019. Wideman was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Honorable Mention in 2022.
He graduated from Butler University in 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
