LTH Castings Skofja Loka (Liga Nova KBM) added to their roster 27-year old former Slovenian international 197cm swingman Blaz Mesicek, agency: Octagon Europe for season 2024-25. It is actually his comeback to Skofja Loka as he has played here before. Mesicek played most recently at Fuenlabrada in Spanish Primera FEB, but left. In 9 games he recorded 6.6ppg and 1.2rpg last season.
He ended the previous (2022-23) season at Zob Ahan in Iranian league where in three West Asia Super League games he averaged impressive 15.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.0spg in that year. But the most of that year he spent at Cibona in Croatian Premijer Liga. In 6 games he had 11.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.5apg in that year. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 7 games in ABA League where he got 10.1ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.0apg in that year.
He was also a member of Slovenian international program for some years. Mesicek played for Slovenian Senior National Team between 2016 and 2020 and previously for U18 National Team in 2014.
He represented Slovenia at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) nine years ago. His stats at that event were 8 games: Score-2(16.6ppg), 5.4rpg, 2.8apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 49.3%, 3PT: 25.6%, FT: 82.2%.
Mesicek is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Greece (Kolossos H Hotels Rodou), Hungary (OSE Lions), Serbia (BC Mega MIS Beograd), Croatia (Split), Italy (Pistoia and Brindisi) and Slovenia (Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana and Grosuplje).
Among many awards he won Slovenian 2SKL championship title in 2015. Mesicek received Eurobasket.com All-Slovenian 2SKL Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Slovenian 2SKL Guard of the Year award back in 2015.
