Small forward Eduards Avotins (198-SF-2001) was tied for the best scorer of the day in the world yesterday with the 37 points he had in the Latvian RNBL. His excellent performance made his team Kandava beat the Jelgava 93 to 74. His team was the regular season runner-up in the Latvian RNBL Group West earlier this year. Among many awards he was selected as the Eurobasket All-Latvian RNBL Honorable Mention in 2023. He was also the best scorer in the league last season when he scored almost 27 points per game.
