Andre Onana confident that talented Leny Yoro will make strong impact at Manchester United following impressive performance against Rangers – Latest Updates on Man United’s News and Transfers

Leny Yoro reacts after outstanding Manchester United debut in 2-0 win vs. Rangers - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has insisted that new signing Leny Yoro has all the attributes and ability to succeed at Old Trafford.

United recently announced the arrival of Yoro, who put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

The Red Devils saw an offer worth £42m plus £10m in add-ons for the defender accepted by Lille. The club fought off significant competition from rival teams like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool to land him.

Yoro wasted no time in getting to work at United as he was instantly included in the squad that made its way to Edinburgh to face Rangers at Murrayfield.

The Frenchman was named in the starting XI and he certainly didn’t disappoint on his United debut.

Yoro produced a superb last-ditch tackle just 10 minutes into proceedings to deny a Rangers star from finding the back of the net.

During the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, the 18-year-old barely put a foot wrong and perfectly slotted in next to the experienced Jonny Evans.

Yoro demonstrated incredible calm and composure on the ball and didn’t seem at all fazed even under pressure from the opposition.

After the final whistle, Onana spoke to Sky Sports (via The Daily Mail) and gave his verdict on Yoro’s performance.

The United shot-stopper said, “When you have the opportunity to be a Manchester United player that’s when you have a lot of quality.”

“He already showed this in the first half. Great guy, very young player. Good on the ball. We will enjoy him this season.”

“He will. We are here to help him, no matter what is going on. Us as leaders, he’s a young player, we’re going to give him time.”

“He’s going to be alright because we have very good scouts here, so if they made him come that means he has a lot of quality.”

Yoro himself spoke to the media and described his first United appearance as “incredible.”
